Located just a few miles south of downtown Nashville, the city of Brentwood, TN is a great base to explore the best local attractions of the state’s capital city and its surrounding areas. If you are searching for new destinations to discover with your family in your new 2023 Maserati Grecale, here are three popular places you can reach in less than one hour by car.

1. The Parthenon at Centennial Park

Although Nashville is not the first city that comes to mind when thinking about ancient Greek architecture, The Parthenon at Centennial Park is an impressive life-sized replica of the original structure in Athens. Originally conceived as a temporary building for the Tennessee Centennial Exposition of 1897, this structure was rebuilt in the 1920s and is nowadays one of the most famous symbols of the city.

Located at 2500 West End Avenue in the western part of Nashville, The Parthenon can be reached in about 15 minutes by car from Brentwood via routes I-65 and I-440. Nowadays, this landmark building serves as a museum and cultural center that showcases replicas of other ancient Greek sculptures and can be visited every day of the week.

2. Tennessee State Capitol

Another well-known example of Greek Revival architecture in the region, the Tennessee State Capitol is another popular local landmark that can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car from the Brentwood city center via route I-65. Constructed between 1845 and 1859, this building is the seat of government of the state and also serves as the governor’s main office.

The Tennessee State Capitol is located at 600 Dr. M.L.K. Jr Blvd in the Nashville downtown area and can be included in a walking tour around the main tourist attractions of the city. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, this building sits atop the highest point in the city center and is surrounded by a series of historic statues and memorials. The tomb of former U.S. President James K. Polk lies within the grounds of the Capitol.

3. Long Hunter State Park

Sitting on the eastern shores of Percy Priest Lake and a little over 25 miles east of downtown Brentwood, Long Hunter State Park is a well-known local landmark and a fantastic destination to escape the city and enjoy some time in nature. Covering an area of about 2,600 acres, this place became a state park in 1974 and offers great opportunities for recreational activities including hiking, swimming, mountain biking, and fishing.
